What you’ll do:

• Prep the bike (clean, power, stocking gelato, supplies, etc.)

• Ride the bike to designated neighborhoods/routes (it's electric-assisted)

• Park and setup (umbrella, cones, cups, etc.)

• Sell and serve gelato

• Post updates to our social media (where you're located, fun updates, gelato pics, etc.)

• Chat with customers and handle payments

• Pack up and return the bike

• Unload inventory and supplies and lock up

• Deal calmly with the unexpected (weather changes, location shifts, permit police, etc.)

• You will be required to obtain a Food Health & Safety Certificate (paid for by us)

 

We’re looking for someone who’s:

• Responsible and reliable — you’ll often work solo

• Warm, friendly and outgoing — this is a public-facing role 

• Takes initiative and comfortable with social media posting

• Comfortable outdoors and navigating the city on a large bike

• Able to handle light physical work (some lifting, biking, etc.)

• Cool-headed when plans shift (and they sometimes will)

• Resourceful - a shop on wheels is unpredictable ;)

What to expect:

• The schedule is super flexible/on-call — some weeks are busy, others are quiet - sometimes we experiment with morning shifts, sometimes sunset hours

• Shifts may come up with a few hours’ notice

• No storefront — our bike lives in a shed in a downtown parking lot

• Although we're always online and available to be reached, you'll often be working solo and navigating unpredictable moments and folks as an outdoor shop

Pay: $18/hr + tips + free gelato mmmm
